Challenge
DEMAND, a local charity designing and manufacturing bespoke solutions for people with disabilities, needed to redesign and realign its website in order to attract its target audience and grow revenue through increased donations and the sale of tickets for events.
Solution
PENNInk Productions proposed a bespoke solution catering for the needs of a diverse audience, comprising the general public, donors, volunteers, trustees, healthcare professionals, and people with disabilities. A combination of responsive website design and development incorporating an online events management system and a strong focus on accessibility were behind the creation of a new website, which strove to be the best in class for accessibility by utilising the latest technology to enable the use of the site by people with a variety of disabilities, including a range of sight impairment, such as glaucoma.
The new site also integrates with an external ecommerce site, on which the shop is run, and is designed to minimise administration time spent by reducing the overhead in organising events, which are quite time-consuming, and encouraging people to donate time and/or money online, freeing up staff time.

Results
Donations
Since no analytics are available to compare with the site as it existed prior to the redesign, we are obliged to default to anecdotal evidence of success. Be that as it may, DEMAND confirms that there has been at least one substantial donation since the site was launched, as well as a vast increase in incoming warm leads coming through the website, in the order of 2-3 per week, resulting in an increase in offline donations. As the primary goal of the redesign was to increase the number of incoming leads, the charity is very happy to confirm that the project has reached its main objective.
