Hillingdon Outdoor Activities Centre, a local facility providing courses for adults and children on land- and water-based outdoor activities, including kayaking, sailing, windsurfing and survival skills, provided a remit to redesign and redevelop its existing website in order to move to an ecommerce business model, reduce administration overheads, and attract its target audience to book places on courses and purchase memberships online.
PENNInk Productions proposed a bespoke ecommerce solution including events and membership sales and management, catering for the needs of an audience comprising the general public and HOAC staff. A combination of contemporary responsive website design and development incorporating an online events booking system and membership management system drove the creation of a new website.
The new site is designed to minimise administration time spent by reducing the overhead in taking telephone enquiries, which are labour-intensive, and encouraging customers to book online, freeing up staff time.
- Bespoke website design and development including:
- events and membership management software
- fully mobile responsive contemporary design
- integration with Stripe payment gateway
During the first 3 months after launch, the new website resulted in almost £170,000 worth of bookings.
